New Delhi: There will be a significant increase in India’s urban population which will touch about 60 crore by 2030 representing around 41 percent of the total population. The Thermal energy demand of the building in the country are also projected to jump 800 percent by 2047 from the 2010 levels and the electricity demand in the country is expected to go up to 2,500 Tera Watt by 2030 according to a study by property consultant CBRE and Confederation of Indian Industry.
Only about 87 million sq ft of commercial real estate development in the country is LEED certified. About 19 percent of tit is LEED Platinum, around 63 percent is LEED Gold and the rest 16 percent is LEED Silver certified as of now.
