All 1.12 Cr PMAY Homes To Be Sanctioned By Next Month: Puri

New Delhi: All the remaining 1.12 crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will be sanctioned  by the government by next month, said Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in Rajya Sabha.

“A revised demand assessment was made and now the demand is for 1.12 crore houses. I am sure we can meet that in terms of sanctioning in the next month or so,” he said in the Rajya Sabha.

He said that about 32 lakh homes have been delivered to people so far. He also said that around 60 lakh houses under the scheme are under construction and will be completed in the next 12-18 months.

The central government announced PMAY (Urban) and PMAY (Gramin) in 2015 and has been sanctioning construction of houses since then.
