Asian Development Bank Gives USD 206 Mn Loan For Tamil Nadu Cities

New Delhi: Asian Development Bank (ADB) has given a USD 206 million loan to India for the development of sewerage and water supply infrastructure in 5 cities of Tamil Nadu. The loan will also be utilised for strengthening capacities of urban local bodies (ULBs) for better service delivery.

This is the second tranche for the ADB-supported USD 500 million multi-tranche financing for Tamil Nadu Urban Flagship Investment Programme. The progarmme was approved in September 2018 and envisages develop climate-resilient water supply, sewerage, and drainage infrastructure in 10 cities of the state, the government said today in a statement. 

The first project under the Programme with USD 169 million financing is currently under implementation.
