CBI Arrests NBCC DGM For Taking Bribe

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a senior official of the state run construction firm NBCC for allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 2.30 lakh.

The Deputy General Manager of NBCC Sagir Ahmed allegedly took bribe from a private company tasked to complete the projects under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojna in Shillong, according to media reports.  

Ahmed allegedly asked Rs 80,000 for three roads being constricted by JC Infra Corporation.

Ahmed was allegedly asking for bribe from JC Infra head Subhash Jhunjhunwala again and again. Ahmed allegedly also asked for a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh for clearing the bill of Rs54 lakh that NBCC owed to JC Infra.

After the arrest of Ahmed, CBI conducted raids at his office and home.
