Mumbai, 23 August 2024: Eco-friendly hospitality company, Eco Hotels & Resorts, announced a major expansion plan on Friday, signing an initial agreement to acquire three new properties in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. This move comes as part of the company’s strategy to reach its target of 500 rooms across its portfolio by the end of this year, further solidifying its presence in the eco-conscious tourism industry.

The three new properties, located near the pristine beaches of Sindhudurg, will add a total of 94 rooms to Eco Hotels & Resorts’ growing inventory. The company has already secured board approval for this acquisition, which was granted on July 31, signaling the green light for rapid development. Currently listed on the BSE, Eco Hotels & Resorts operates with a capacity of over 200 rooms and aims to significantly scale up operations by leveraging these new additions.

In a statement, Akash Bhatia, CEO of Eco Hotels & Resorts, shared that the company is actively working on operational and marketing strategies to bring the Sindhudurg properties online as soon as possible. “These properties are key to helping us achieve our target of 500 rooms by December. We’re moving quickly to integrate them into our portfolio,” Bhatia explained.

The acquisition is part of the company’s broader plan to establish a strong foothold in India’s rapidly growing tourism sector. Executive Chairman, Vinod K Tripathi, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to the industry, stating, “India’s tourism industry is expanding at a fast pace with new destinations emerging. Eco Hotels is eager to occupy a suitable space quickly and sustainably. We have plans to grow our operational capacity to 5,000 rooms within the next five years.”

By focusing on eco-friendly hospitality solutions, the company aims to attract environmentally conscious travelers while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable tourism practices.

As Eco Hotels & Resorts continues its rapid expansion, the company’s efforts are aligned with the growing demand for eco-friendly tourism options in India. With its focus on sustainability and innovation, the company is set to make a significant impact on the Indian hospitality industry, positioning itself as a leader in green tourism.

The company’s long-term vision, combined with its immediate efforts to scale up operations, highlights Eco Hotels & Resorts’ ambition to become a key player in the eco-friendly hospitality space, catering to a growing market of travelers who prioritize sustainability.
