New Delhi: FASTags will be available free again for about 15 days from 15-29 February at the NAHI’s toll plazas across the country.
The NHAI has taken a decision to waive off the FASTag fe of Rs 100 folr these 15 days so as to support digital collection attempt of toll fees.
“Road users can visit any authorised physical point-of-sale locations with a valid Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle and get a NHAI FASTag free of cost. NHAI FASTag may be purchased from all NH fee plazas, RTOs, Common Service Centres, transport hubs, petrol pumps,” the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement.
To look up for the nearest NHAI FASTag point-of-sale location, a user can download MyFASTag App, or visit www.ihmcl.com or even call 1033 NH Helpline number.
The applicable security deposit amount and minimum balance amount for FASTag wallet will remain unchanged.
NHAI had earlier given free FASTags from 22 November to 15 December 2019. However, there were several and widespread complaints from people that they had to pay for FASTags even in that period and there has been poor implementation of the FASTag programme of the government.
