New Delhi: Government has collected Rs 2.69 lakh crore as cess under Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and Central Road Fund (CRF) in the last three fiscals.
A whopping Rs 1.13 lakh crore has been collected in the last fiscal (2018-19). Rs 83,116 crore has been collected in 2017-18 and Rs 72, 400 crore has been collected in 2016-17, Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
CRIF is meant for various infrastructure sectors such as Ports, Highways, Airports, Water, Urban Public Transport, Energy, Communication, Social and Commercial Infrastructure, etc.
