Govt Collects Rs 2,500 Cr As Toll From Jaipur-Gurugram Highway

New Delhi: The Jaipur-Gurugram Highway has resulted in a windfall for the government. A total of Rs 2,500 crore was collected at toll by the government in the last four years, averaging Rs 625 crore per year.

The highway, also known as National Highway 8, has three toll plazas at the moment.

The government collected Rs 569 crore in 2016-17 fiscal and Rs Rs 666 crore in 2017-18 fiscal.

It collected Rs 708 crore in 2018-19 financial year and Rs 555 crore till February in the current fiscal, according to a reply given by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in Rajya Sabha recently. 

The three toll plazas are located at Manoharpur,Daulatpura and  Shahjahanpur right now. This was a major highways constructed on BOT (Built Operate and Transfer) model.
