New Delhi: Government has postponed the compulsory implementation of FASTags on toll plazas of National Highway from 1st December to 15th December.
In view of the lack of preparation for the roll out of the National Electronic Toll Collection program (NETC) and the confusion prevailing amongst people, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has taken the decision to postpone the implementation of FASTags.
There is widespread confusion among the users of highways as what they have to do to get the FASTags and how to get them free as announced by the government recently.
It was decided by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways that all the lanes on toll plazas will be declared as ‘FASTag lane of Fee Plaza’ by 1st of December 2019, except one lane on each side.
However, the Ministry has decided to continue giving the FASTag for free till 15th of December.
