New Delhi: With an aim to reign in trade costs and bring the logistics cost to under 10 percent for businesses in the country, the government is planning to come up with National Logistics Policy soon, said Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Railways today.
The National Committee on Trade Facilitation is also working hard to bring about improvement in trading environment with, he said while speaking at an event organized I the Capital by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
“Government of India is strongly committed to the ‘Act East Policy’ for integration of the Indo-Pacific Region,” said Goyal.
Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII said that the strong inter-ministerial consensus in the country on improvement of infrastructure and adherence to international standards is commendable.
