Greater Noida, August 19th: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has issued a final ultimatum to property allottees who have failed to register their plots or begin construction even after two decades of allotment. Allottees have until October 30, 2024, to complete registration, and June 30, 2026, to finish construction, or risk having their allotments canceled.
The decision, finalized during GNIDA’s June 12 board meeting, reflects growing frustration with the approximately 5,000 allottees who have failed to act on their plots, particularly in some of the city’s oldest sectors like Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta. Officials note that many allottees have left their plots vacant, waiting for profitable resale opportunities rather than developing the land, creating security concerns and inconveniences for neighbouring residents. Resident welfare associations (RWAs) have raised concerns over the prolonged vacancy of plots, noting that they have become eyesores and potential security risks.
Despite previous notices, compliance has been minimal, prompting this final extension. “This is the last opportunity for allottees to register and begin construction,” said GNIDA’s Additional CEO, Ashutosh Kumar Dwivedi, emphasizing that no further extensions will be granted.
