How Many Home Buyers Can Benefit From New Stress Fund For Realty Sector?

New Delhi: The recently announced Rs 10,000 stress fund by the government for real estate sector could potentially benefit about 2.5 lakh housing units that are stuck in the top seven cities out of which about 92,350 delayed units in Mumbai and 60,700 units in Delhi NCR can get help from the fund, according to report  by ANAROCK Property Consultant.

The 1.5 lakh luxury or premium houses, which hav been kept outside of the purview of the stress fund, that are delayed will have to wait for longer to see some resolution.

There are about 4 lakh residential properties that are stalled at various stages of completion in top seven cities across the different price bands that are not falling under NCLT have  been launched in 2013 or before. 

Out of this, about 63 percent are in the affordable and mid-income categories for which the fund has been envisaged for help.  

Pune has about 67,240 units and Kolkata has around 9,600 houses that can potentially be benefitted from the fund.

Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai have 11,880 units, 1,200 units and 8,960 units respectively that can take advange under the new fund.
