New Delhi: The Water & Effluent Treatment Business division of L&T Construction has bagged three orders worth Rs 2,500-5,000 crore from Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC).
The three Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) orders are for ‘Design, Build, Operate, Maintain and Transfer of water supply systems in Hubballi – Dharwada, Kalaburagi and Belagavi cities of Karnataka. They envisage cost effective and sustainable pressurized water supply round the clock.
These three projects are mostly funded by World Bank. He worls includes The delivering continuous water to people and achieve the target of Non-Revenue Water by lowering losses by way of development of suitable water infrastructure and even utility improvements. L&T said in a statement.
The projects will be able to provide water supply to about 29 lakh people. The orders include design and construction of intake structures, water treatment plants, overhead service reservoirs, raw / clear water transmission and distribution pipelines, ground level storage reservoirs, instrumentation a automation works including operation and maintenance.
The business has bagged another order from the Tiruchirappalli City Corporation. This order is to ‘Provide an Underground Sewerage scheme to added areas of Tiruchirappalli City Corporation Phase III.’ The order includes laying down of sewer pipelines in select areas of the city, construction of RCC manholes at places, pumping and lifting stations and providing sewer connections to households.
