L&T Bags Rs 2,500-5,000 Cr Order In Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi: Infrastructure player Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won a “large” contract from Narmada Valley Development Authority for executing a micro-irrigation project. Although the company did not specify the exact value of the order, its project classification of “large” orders means it is valued between Rs 2,500-5,000 crore.

L&T is already working on Parwati Phase I & II and hence this is a repeat order from NVDA, the company said. 

“The water and effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has secured a prestigious EPC order from Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA), Government of Madhya Pradesh to execute the Indira Sagar-Parwati Phase III and IV Lift Micro Irrigation Project,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

This new contract involves provision of water for micro-irrigation to one lakh hectares of cultivable command area in two districts of Madhya Pradesh-Sehore and Shajapur. It entails lifting 32.04 cumec (cubic metres per second) of water from the Indira Sagar Project Reservoir. 

The contract also includes designing, construction and installing of pumping system, raising and distribution pipeline networks, laying electrical power transmission lines and automation system by supervisory control and data acquisition.
