New Delhi: Railways Strategic Business division of infra player L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure IC, with Japanese consortium partner Kyosan Electric Manufacturing Co. Ltd has won an order worth Rs 1,000-2,500 crore from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
The orders have been won as 3 packages, the company said in a statement. The design & build orders include 2×25 KV overhead electrification and signalling & Telecommunication works in certain sections of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC). The sections are Dadri – Khurja and Sahnewal – Khurja tracks. These orders will, be spread over 442 route kilometers and 638 track kilometers.
The company is already in the process of executing the electrification & signaling system contracts for the Mughalsarai-New Sonnagar section. It is also working on electrification works of the Mughalsarai to Bhaupur section of the EDFC.
With this order, the company will electrifying over 1,000 kilometers out of 1,346 kilometers the EDFC where orders have been decided and all 1,465 kilometers of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
