L&T Wins Orders Worth Rs 1,000-2,500 Cr In Telangana, UP, Other States

New Delhi: The construction arm of L&T hasbagged orders worth Rs 1,000-2,500 crore for various businesses. The Metallurgy and Material Handling business division of the company bagged an order from state-run BHEL to manufacture and supply heavy material handling equipment for its thermal power plant at Yadadri, Telangana. This plant has a capacity of 5 x 800 MW.

The company has bagged another order Birla Copper, (a Hindalco Group company) to revamp its Copper Smelter complex at Dahej in Gujarat. The order includes assessment and reengineering of operating plant facilities. 

L&T has also bagged an order for supply of high-end manufactured equipment from its current domestic and overseas contracts. 

The Smart World & Communication business division has secured a smart city project for design, supply, installation and testing of an integrated command and control centre in Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. The order includes deployment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre, Intelligent Traffic Management System, City Surveillance, City Wi-Fi, Solid Waste Management, GIS, Citizen Portal and e-Office Applications. 

The L&T GeoStructure business division has bagged an order from the State Project Management Unit, West Bengal Government, for flood protection projects. The order also includes embankment strengthening of Damodar river in Purba Bardhhaman and Hooghly districts of West Bengal, the company said in a regulatory filing.
