New Delhi: A Lucknow-based man was arrested by city police from a mall after 22 complaints were filed against him of cheating in relation to property and vehicle financé. Gyan Prakash Upadhyay has allegedly cheated people to the tune of Rs 3 crore in total.
The police said Upadhyay even promised heavy returns on investment to people and fled after taking money from his clients.
Many complaints were filed against him in Gomtinagar police station. Upadhayay allegedly offered residential plots to his clients in outskirts of Lucknow and take money from them. His clients used to find out later that the plots were already sold to others. He even promised to sell brand new cars to people at below showroom price and thus conned many people.
