Many Cement, Paint Makers Shut Down Operations Temporarily

New Delhi: Various cement and paint makers in the country have shut down their factories due to the corona virus lockdown. 

Ambuja Cement has shut down its plans and offices across the country temporarily. It has also formed Business Resilience Teams (BRT) to respond to the spread of COVID-19, Ambuja Cement said in a regulatory filing.

India Cement has also stopped production in its factories in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan amid the virus outbreak and the resultant lockdown. 

Even Orient Cement has shut down its plants across the country. the company “(Orient Cement ) has taken steps to suspend production at all its locations till further notice,” the company said in a regulatory filing.

Shree Cement too has suspended production in its plants amid the outbreak, according to a regulatory filing. 

Meanwhile, even paint maker Berger Paints has called off production at its plants, the company said in a regulatory filing.
