New Delhi: Even though the number of projects registered with UP-RERA in Delhi NCR (primarily Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad) and the rest of the state is almost the same, the number of complaints received by the authority against projects in Delhi NCR is far higher than the complaints in rest of the state.
The number of projects registered in Delhi NCR with the authority stands at 1,343 and the number of rest of the state is 1,340. However, the number of complaints received by the authority for Delhi NCR projects is 12,973 and for the rest of the state as a whole is just 4,104, according to the annual report of the authority for 2018-19.
As regards ranking of the districts of the state based on number of grievances received, Gautam Budh Nagar took the first place with 10,254 complaints. Interestingly, the second position is not taken by Ghaziabad but by Lucknow. The number of complaints received against projects in Lucknow was 3,447, followed by Ghaziabad with 2,184.
Meerut (with 451 complaints) and Agra (212 complaints) took 4th and 5th position respectively.
Chief Minister’s constituency Gorakhpur took 8th position with 50 complaints.
