New Delhi: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police has arrested Sandeep Seth of Mumbai-based KT Group for failing to complete a residential project and also for not paying monthly rentals to the tenants of the building it has been redeveloping, according to news report by Times Group. .
Interestingly, the Mumbai Police has closed the case saying the complaints against the construction company were civil in nature.
Other partners of KT Group-Rohini Seth, Dharya Seth and Dhru Seth has also been named as accused in the case and the Mumbai Police has charged all these partners including Sandeep Seth with sections for cheating and criminal breach of trust under the Indian Penal Code and also under Maharashtra Ownership Flat Act.
Several people had booked and paid money for properties being developed or redeveloped by KT Group. In the complaint that led to the arrest of Sandeep Singh, the complainant was Amarik Singh Bhoi, who mentioned in his complaint that he had booked an apartment in ‘Manek Terrace’ project being redeveloped by KT Group at Shimpoli Road in Borivli, one of the suburbs of Mumbai. Bhoi said he had paid Rs 98 lakh to the construction company but it did not complete the project in 28 months.
