Against a backdrop of sustained institutional interest in Indian real estate, NAREDCO Maharashtra will host the sixth edition of its Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors’ Summit 2026 (REIIS 2026) in Mumbai on September 3. The summit will seek to facilitate foreign and domestic capital flows into real estate and infrastructure, while bringing policymakers, investors, financial institutions, developers and technology companies together to discuss the sector’s evolving investment landscape.
The event will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, under the theme ‘RE-Defining India’s Growth Story’. NAREDCO Maharashtra will advocate investment commitments exceeding ₹10,000 crore in Indian real estate at REIIS 2026, with a focus on mobilising foreign and domestic institutional capital for Maharashtra’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.
The focus on capital comes as institutional investment remains strong. JLL India reported real estate investment transaction volumes of $1.7 billion in Q1 2026, up 37% year-on-year. Core asset acquisitions increased 178% to $1.03 billion, reflecting a shift towards stable, income-generating assets. JLL said the momentum extended into the second quarter, with core asset deals already totaling $1.48 billion in the first month of Q2. The firm will release an exclusive report on Mumbai’s redevelopment market at REIIS 2026.
The summit is positioned by NAREDCO Maharashtra as a facilitative platform linking investors and capital providers with opportunities arising from infrastructure expansion, urbanisation and redevelopment. Kamlesh Thakur, President, NAREDCO Maharashtra, said, “REIIS 2026 comes at a pivotal juncture as Maharashtra leads transformative infrastructure and urban development. Under the theme ‘RE-Defining India’s Growth Story,’ the summit will bring together developers, venture capital and institutional investors to unlock sustainable capital flows, promote proptech adoption and shape actionable growth opportunities for the region’s evolving built environment.”
A major government initiative associated with the summit is the launch of the International Business & Finance Centre (IBFC) at Nagpur. The proposed Naveen Nagpur IBFC, spread across 1,710 acres, is envisaged as a business ecosystem for corporates, global capability centres (GCCs), startups and financial institutions. NMRDA is the Government Partner for REIIS 2026. “Naveen Nagpur IBFC is envisioned as a landmark development that will create a new business and investment destination for Nagpur and Central India. Spread across 1,710 acres, it will offer integrated infrastructure and a complete business ecosystem for corporates, GCCs, startups and financial institutions,” said Sanjay Meena, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, NMRDA. “Our focus is to develop Naveen Nagpur with quality infrastructure, efficient governance and a strong investment environment, strengthening Nagpur’s position as a major economic destination in Central India.”
The day-long programme will open with a Power Breakfast on ‘Mumbai 3.0: The Innovation City’, followed by an AI and Proptech Pavilion. Panels and fireside discussions will cover alternative capital, cross-border expansion, AI deployment, regional expansion from local to pan-India footprints and new approaches to real estate liquidity. Leaders from Brookfield, Raymond Realty and other industry participants are expected to feature in the sessions. Dedicated showcases will also examine AI integration, automated property management and technology-enabled construction efficiency.
Dr Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman, NAREDCO India, underlined the importance of the real estate sector in India’s economy, “India’s growth narrative is closely linked to the trajectory of its infrastructure and real estate sectors. With initiatives such as Mumbai 3.0 reshaping connectivity, significant opportunities are emerging through residential, commercial, data centres and logistics. REIIS 2026 provides a platform to rethink investment strategies, harness AI and build resilient structures that can support India’s journey towards a multi-trillion-dollar economy.”
According to Sandeep Runwal, Chairman, NAREDCO Maharashtra, said, “The next phase of India’s real estate growth will be shaped by the alignment of capital, innovation and infrastructure with the needs of a rapidly urbanising economy. REIIS 2026 brings together developers, investors, financial institutions and technology leaders to foster stronger investment partnerships, explore innovative financing models and advance sustainable, technology-enabled urban development.”
Rajan Bandelkar, former Vice Chairman, NAREDCO India, highlighted the importance of capital in achieving urban development targets, “REIIS 2026 highlights the critical role of alternative capital, private equity and structured investment vehicles in sustaining this momentum. By bringing together foreign and domestic funds, this summit will explore equity and debt structures necessary to finance India’s urbanisation surge.”
The event will feature Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Pranav Adani, Gautam Singhania, Durga Shanker Mishra, Paritosh Kashyap, Kaku Nakhate, Ashutosh Singh, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Sanjay Meena, Maninder Cheema and Kaustubh Dhavse, among others.
