Now, Mumbai Based Builder Arrested For Cheating 64 Home Buyers

New Delhi: Director of construction firm Ved Infratech Satish Nathalal Ghogari has been arredsted by Mumbai Police for cheating 64 home buyers in the city, according to news report by Times Group.

He has taken Rs 10 crore from the home buyers but failed to deliver the properties and has been arrested for criminal breach of trust and forgery under the Maharashtra Flat Owners Act (MOFA).

The arrest was made after a complainant by the name of Jaikumar Bhaskar approached the police saying that he paid Rs 8 lakh for a flat in 2017 in a project called ‘Ved Shlok’ that was to be constructed by Ved Infratech in Kanjurmarg. He was to be given the possession of the flat by June 2020 as per the sales agreement.

Ved Infratech later got in touch with the complainant saying that the construction of the project was underway and he must pay another 6.82 lakh. The complainant went to the project but did not find any constriction happening there. He then went to the builder and was told that he will get an apartment on rent in Kanjurmarg till the construction of Ved Shlok was completed.

The complaint again went to the builder’s office in 2018 and found that many other home buyers of the project were cheated. They complained to the police in September 2019.
