New Delhi: Despite the NBFC crisis looming large over the realty industry for over a year now, there has been a 13 percent increase in the number of homes sold in the first nine months of 2019 as compared to the same period of 2018.
About 2.02 lakh residential units were sold in the January-September period of 2019. Around 1.78 lakh homes were sold in the same time in 2018 across top 7 cities, according to data by ANAROCK Property Consultants.
If the value of the houses sold is taken into consideration, there has been 16 percent increase in the between the two periods. Around 1.54 lakh crore worth of residential properties were sold in the top 7 cities in the January-September period of 2019. Properties worth only Rs 1.33 lakh crore was sold in the first nine months of 2018.
If the individual cities are taken into consideration, the sales values were highest in Mumbai at Rs 62,970 crore, followed by Bangalore at Rs 28,160 crore. Delhi NCR came next with Rs 24,860 crore worth of property sold in the first nine months of 2019.
