Oriom Group Launches Oriom Realty, Enters Odisha Real Estate Market

Oriom Group has launched Oriom Realty, a dedicated real estate vertical that will develop premium residential, retail, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use projects across Odisha, beginning with Bhubaneswar and other emerging growth corridors in the state. The move marks the group’s entry into real estate after 21 years of building industrial capabilities across steel and power, speciality chemicals and refractories.

Oriom Realty will draw on the parent group’s engineering expertise, institutional capabilities and governance practices as it expands into residential and commercial development. However, the company is yet to announce investment outlay, project pipelines, land bank, development area or launch timelines for the new business.

Oriom Group, which originated in Jharsuguda and is headquartered in Bhubaneswar, employs more than 3,000 people and operates multiple industrial facilities across eastern India. The diversified group is led by Rajesh Agrawal and directors Anil Kedia and Deepak Agrawal. The company said its Odisha origins give it an understanding of the state’s aspirations.

“From last 21 years, Oriom Group has participated in building Odisha’s industrial economy. Today, we believe the State is entering its next defining growth cycle where industrial development will naturally create demand for modern cities, vibrant communities and quality real estate. Oriom Realty is not merely a diversification; it is a strategic long-term commitment to participate in building the urban infrastructure of a stronger, more prosperous and aspirational Odisha,” Deepak Agrawal, Director, Oriom Group, said.

Rajesh Agrawal, Founder and Director, Oriom Group, said, “The launch of Oriom Realty represents the natural progression of our enterprise. Having successfully built industrial assets across Steel and Power, Chemicals and Refractories with our engineering capability, financial discipline and project execution expertise. We see a compelling long-term opportunity emerging in Odisha as infrastructure investments, manufacturing expansion, rising incomes and urbanisation continue to drive demand for premium residential and commercial developments.”

The group also has some earlier exposure to housing development. It said it facilitated the creation of four multi-storey residential developments in Jharsuguda in early 2007, when the city was seeing growing demand for modern housing. The launch of Oriom Realty, however, establishes a dedicated real estate business spanning a broader range of asset classes.

The company linked its expansion to Odisha’s longer-term urbanisation and infrastructure plans. Odisha’s Vision 2036 & 2047 roadmap targets increasing the share of the state’s population living in urban areas to 40% by 2036 and 60% by 2047. The roadmap identifies urbanisation, industrial competitiveness, logistics and regional economic corridors as growth drivers, alongside investments in highways, airports, ports, rail connectivity and urban infrastructure.

Oriom Realty has said that it plans to develop residential communities and commercial, retail, hospitality and mixed-use assets with an emphasis on construction quality, sustainable design, modern technology and transparent customer engagement.

Anil Kedia, Director of Oriom Group said, “As Odisha strengthens its position as one of India’s leading investment destinations, Oriom Realty will contribute by developing future-ready communities that will set the benchmark for modern living and embed world-class infrastructure.”
