New Delhi: Private Equity (PE) investment in hospitality segment of Indian real estate market more than trebled in the first half (H1) of the current calendar year at Rs 3,950 crore as compared to Rs 1,200 crore in the same period last year, according to a report by property consultant Cushman & Wakefield.
While the overall increase in PE investment in Indian real estate market jumped only by 10 percent from H1 of last year to H1 of the current year, hospitality, retail, mixed-use and industrial sectors witnessed handsome gains in the inflow of PE investment.
The investment in retail segment jumped to Rs 2,400 crore in the current year from Rs 1,988 crore. The investment in mixed-use properties increased to Rs 1,450 crore from Rs 960 crore and in industrial sector to Rs 1,671 crore from Rs 1,030 crore last year.
The overall PE investment in H1 of 2019 increased to Rs 29,284 crore in contrast to Rs 26,603 crore in H1 of 2018.
