New Delhi: Realty player Unity Group has waived rents worth Rs 10 crore in its ‘Unity One’ and ‘Vegas’ malls for a month due to the corona outbteak and the lockdown situation.
“Due to this pandemic, retail sales and footfall of commercial properties are gravely impacted at this initial stage itself, the retail sector became an instant victim as soon as the intensity of the coronavirus spread became known. We will continue to do everything we can to support the retailers and maintain business continuity until the crisis ends,” said Harsh Bansal, Director, Unity Group and Pratham Group.
The Unity Group has about 300 retailers at various locations of Delhi including Rohini, Dwarka, Janak Puri and Shahdara.
While another realty player Signature Global is distributing ration, vegetables, fruits and even mask to the construction labourers.
This is done to stop migration of the construction workers.
The company is also distributing cash to the laboureres.
Signature Global is planning to distribute the items in various parts of Delhi NCR like Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Noida.
“The phase of lockdown must not bring any undue trouble or distress to our workers, we are ensuring that their basic needs of food and cleanliness are well taken care of. We are taking care of all labours stationed in hutments, which are being sanitized time to time at all of our sites — Gurgaon, Karnal and Vaishali,” said Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder And Chairman, Signature Global.
