Rs 250 Cr Unaccounted Cash Unearthed In Raid On Real Estate-Infra Firm

New Delhi: A real estate-infrastructure company based in Delhi NCR has been raided and about Rs 250 crore of unaccounted cash has been unearthed. 

Thirty two bank lockers belonging to the company, which also has interest in mining sector, has also been sealed. Around 25 premises of the company were raided, said a statement by the Finance Ministry. However, the name of the company has not been disclosed by the Ministry.    

“The Income Tax Department conducted a search and survey action on a group having interest in infrastructure, mining and real estate…. Cash ledgers containing details of unaccounted cash receipts of more than Rs 250 crore have also been found and seized,” the Ministry said.

The company admitted that an income of Rs 3,000 was not disclosed by it to the authorities and agreed to pay taxes on this amount. 

Unaccounted assets worth Rs 3.75 crore were also found in the raid and have been seized.
