Shree Cement, Berger Paints Shut Down Plants Amid Corona Outbreak

New Delhi: Shree Cement has shut down its plants and offices across the country till at least April 14, 2020, the company said in regulatory filing.

Berger Paints has shut down its plants till the end of the lockdown, the company said in a filing to the BSE.

“In accordance with the advisories issued by the central government and the state governments and in order to ensure health of all stakeholders in view of the COVID 19 pandemic, the company has closed all its factories and most of the businesses till the end of the lockdown,” it said in the filing.

The outbreak has dealt a heavy blow to the real estate and allied sectors. There are reports that sales and site visits by real estate buyers have gone down by half in March 2020 as compared to the same period last year. The government has announced a complete lockdown in the country in the wake of the outbreak till 14 April, 2020.
